Fundraising & Donations
El Centro Family Health gratefully welcomes contributions of any amount for the following purposes:
- Unrestricted. Over 40% of our patients have no source of insurance and pay what they can out of pocket . the rest is subsidized. Our federal and state grants cover some of these costs, but they have not increased substantially in years while costs continue to rise. Your unrestricted donation allows us to meet the needs of our patients in a variety of ways.
- Medical Equipment is needed to care for patients, and in many cases to improve patient care and save lives.
- Capital Campaigns - Espaņola and Las Vegas Capital Campaigns are of utmost importance to the organization and the people we serve because they are the two largest clinics and are overcrowded and inefficient. Without new clinic buildings, the organization cannot expand to meet the growing needs of patients.

Espaņola Capital Campaign
Espaņola is the home of the ECFH Administration building and 3 clinics: Espaņola Main Clinic, Espaņola Bond and Espaņola School Based Health. We are in the planning and design phases for a new shared health campus with Las Cumbres Learning Services and the Espaņola Public Health Office. The need is to replace the old and over-crowded current facilities (except the School Based clinic) with a larger, more efficient clinic that can allow us to expand the number of patients served. The medical clinic as designed will cost between $1.5 million and $2.5 million. We already have received $225,000 from the state Legislature and have a pledge of $200,000 from the McCune Foundation. We plan to request a federal appropriation in the next two years. We hope to raise $250,000 from private donations.
Las Vegas Capital Campaign
El Centro Family Health has an historic opportunity to remodel a portion of the Northeastern Regional Hospital building that will be vacant on July 1, as the hospital moves to a new location. The Las Vegas clinic is currently located in modular buildings on Hot Springs Blvd. These are over 20 years old and are crowded beyond capacity to serve the patients who need to be served. There is also no room for growth of new programs, such as health education or behavioral health which our patients need. The remodel of the hospital is estimated at $500,000 to $600,000. ECFH has requested a federal appropriation to meet the bulk of this cost, but federal funds are very limited because of the budget. We hope to raise $100,000 from private donations.
